GM quick connect fuel lines w/pics
Hey all I was just here the other day asking for someone to please explain how to remove a gas line from one of the nipple on my gas tank and no one ever responded.
Upon further review on the internet I found my answer with some pics and decided to post them here in the hope that it will help someone else when they are doing there fuel pump replacement. http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/4/8/6/5/qc1.gif http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/4/8/6/5/qc3.gif http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/4/8/6/5/qc4.gif http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/4/8/6/5/qc6.gif http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/4/8/6/5/qc7.gif http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/4/8/6/5/qc8.gif those are all the types of quick connects that gm uses i thought it would be help full to someone who is trying to figure out how to remove there gas lines cause like me I got to the nipple in the rear of the gas tank and it was a different connect than the 3 on the fuel pump and no where on this site could i find a pic of the different quick connect lines that GM uses. Here is the site i found this on Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service - Chevy HHR Network hope it helps someone out! |
I don't know if anyone could ever really explain how to do some of those where it would make sense, especially the first one. Absolutely the most difficult thing I have ever tried to do. One would think, since there must be a couple gazillion of those things out in the real world, GM or OEM folks would take a few minutes and make some blow up color pictures showing them and how to really get them disconnected. None of the tools they make for them work really well.
I found out just after I replaced my fuel pump in October that the plastic locking part of those connections are replaceable and might work better if I had replaced them when I put in the failed fuel pump 8 or 9 years ago. But live and learn, you know. |
