green chunks
So i was just reading a post that talked about someone seeing green chunks (grease im assuming) around their CV boot. about a year and a half ago after i had my tie rods and idler arms replaced i looked under the truck and saw green crap around the CV boot, i didnt think anything of it because i just got it out of the shop the day before, so i thought it was something they put there. I also had no clue what else it could have been at that time (before my blazer forum days lol) now after reading that post i know its probably my boot leaking.
so my question is, a year and a half later its still fine, no noise or complaints coming from the CV and i havent seen any more green crap, so could it have been a leaky seal that got plugged and is now fine? or am i driving a hazard? T-bars aren't cranked either.

sounds like cv boot, the drivers side inboard joint likes to leak on these its not a ripped boot usually it comes out underneith. kinda odd but common. if u wanna change cool, not too hard like 60 70 for a NEW one, i dont like reman cv's myself. if boot is still intact and not visibly ripped and joint is quiet, imo i would leave it unless ur bored lol. wont hurt anything, if joint gets dry or contaminated it will make noise when u turn even in 2wd, there live all the time. like a knock knock knock. but its up to u. if ur gonna jack it up not a bad idea to change due to the more load and angle on the joints.

it was my passenger side CV, but yeah i figure ill just replace it when it goes out. im surprised that after a year and a half it hasn't already gone out :P but im gunna be doing my body lift here pretty soon and putting on 31" tires so ill probably change both CV's when i do that and call it a day, or maybe two lol.
