Hard start after it rains
2000 trailblazer 4.3w 140k miles
hard to start even after a light rain i am thinking of replacing the cap rotor and wires anyone else run into this problem? |
long time ago on a 83 had this issue due to a crack in the coil. if i hit a big puddle it would die also and would have to sit for 20 minutes before it would start
|
well the funny thing is it doesn't even skip when i'm driving in the rain, ill check for cracks on the coil.
thanks |
Well the coil looked good no cracks/ carbon tracks.
but when i pulled the cap off there was some moisture in there, plus it looks like cap, rotor and wires are original. so looks like im replacing them along with plugs this weekend. (using ac delco parts) if they lasted 140k they are worth the price :icon_wink: |
problem fixed,
rotor had carbon tracks all over the place aftermarket bosh wires aftermarket bosh plugs 2 different types single electrode and dual replaced cap rotor wires plugs all ac delco, truck runs like a champ! thanks guys |
