Heat
I only have heat when the knob is all the way on 82, I have auto climate. When I put it on anything else on the heat side it blows cold or the temperature of the outside temp. Could this be a bad blower motor? If not what could it be?

RE: Heat
Does the blower motor respond to all of the fan settings?
Could be a problem with the control of the temp door. If that is the case, it mostlikely is a problem with the ATC (automatic temperature control) headunit itself. If you have a junkyard close, I would see if they have an ATC headunit same as yours and swap that in. |
RE: Heat
yea no matter what speed setting it blows cold until I put it on heat all the way. I'll go get a new ATC unit

RE: Heat
I would not get a "new" one as I cannot say (from my seat) that the ATC is definitely at fault.
Looking into it a little deeper... First, try disconnecting the control head. Once it is reconnected, it should run through its actuator tests. It may just be the temperature door out of calibration and a reset of the system could fix it. This also could be caused by a plugged or otherwise not functioning interior temperature sensor. The temperature door is driven by an electronic stepper motor on top of the HVAC housing. It is also possible that your A/C system is cycling and the heater core is not producing enough heat to warm the air sufficiently until the temperature door closes (which is what happens when you move it to max heat). |

When I said new I meant new, it's a used part but it's still new to me.
