Heat doesnt work when stationary

Well as the title says, the heat only works when imn driving. if i come to a stop, it starts to get colder and colder. once i get moving again i have to turn off the heat for about 60 seconds and turn it back on. if i dont do that it will just continue to blow cold air., any idea how to fix this??
also its a 2003 2wd 2dr

Nemo1991, does your engine come up to proper operating temperature? If so, it sounds like your heater core may be partially clogged and the condition may be alleviated through a heater core flush.

itsmeuherel7, please do not double (quadruple in this case) post your questions in a bunch of threads, especially threads where others are trying to solve a problem, however similar it is. This question has been answered in another thread which you have posted in already.

yes it does, right around 200 degrees. thanks you ill try that and see if it helps, its only 15 degrees out right now!

The link for the core flush is OK but I would advise putting small hoses and clamps on the core to get the water out of the engine compartment. On some models you can get water all over your cap and wires doing it the way it's shown in the pictures....don't want to cause other problems.

This may be as simple as a low coolant level. :icon_wink:
