Default Help With Check Engine Codes

Hi Guys,

My girl friend has a 1997 4 door Chevy Blazer with roughly 215k KM on it.

The other day the check engine light came on and there were these four codes:

P0740
P0785
P1816
P0740 (My scanner listed 4 codes and this one was twice)

Knowing it is throwing those codes what kind of repairs could be expected, rough cost?

Going to take it in tomorrow hopefully just wanted a heads up bfore hand on what I might expect to hear.

Thanks!!

Have you looked at the DTC trouble code board? It will explain in amazing detail all of these codes and provide troubleshooting tips and stuff you might need to replace afterward.

Here are the first two:
P0740 - Torque Converter Clutch Circuit
P0785 - Shift Timing Solenoid

I don't have a good walk through on the last one:
P1816 - TFP Valve Position Sw. - Park/Neu. With Drive Ratio

Thanks for the replies guys!

Took it in today, he read the codes cleared them and said those codes are very un-common together and it is most likely a loose connection. He cleared it and said just to keep driving it and see if it comes back on. He also said to see if the PRND lights come on, if not it is definately just a loose wire.

Not at all what I was expecting but we'll see
