Help! I'm stuck on the side of the highway right now!

It's a damp dreary day in Michigan, I'm heading home from my girlfriends house. Traffic is stop and go, so my 99 blazer decides it wants to stop. It just died. It will turn over, but won't start up. I am low on fuel, but not . I wahds able to get it started for a minute after waiting a few to try and turn it over, but it died ppoetry quickly. Oh, and I have my two dogs in the truck with me. Any quick ideas of what I can do to get moving again? HELP!

I doubt it is going to be anything you can fix on the side of the road. Sounds like a fuel issue.

Do you think it might just be because it's low? It's not empty, but theres only a couple gallons in there I'd imagine. This is just going to be a super expensive tow! I'm about 30 miles from home.

The only way to find out is to add fuel. But if you consistently run on an empty tank, the life of the pump suffers.

No, don't normally run this low. I just wanted to get home quickly because I have a lot to do today in preparation for tomorrow. I was going top fill up later after I dropped the pups off. My girlfriend is leaving work to bring me some fuel now. Ugh.

I was finally able to get the truck towed to a local shop. They said the same thing. Fuel pump. But they wanted $1000 to fix it! I called my local shop and they said they could do it for $500! So, I had it towed up there so they could fix it. Sure, the tow is expensive, but it will still be cheaper in the long run. Thanks for the help!
