Help with interior lights

Ok, 1st the dome light fuse(#2) kept blowing, so someone said remove the lighter and then it worked, now the lights go off when you start the car and stay off, but soon as I turn off car and get out they wont go off. Im assuming door switches work because as long as the car is on they go off and on as the door opens, and closes. Any advice?

OK, you didn't say what year Blazer you had... I have a 2000 & that's the book I have so my advice is based on that. '98 & up is pretty similar. Fuse # 2 won't have any impact on your lights (unless you have wires shorted) - it powers the cigarette lighter and DLC connector under the dashboard (scanner tool plug in port) Fuse # 8 powers your courtesy lamps. That being said, your lights are controlled by the "Body Control Module". It responds to 'requests' to turn the lights on (door handle & jamb switches, remote lock/unlock, etc.) and activates a relay that powers the courtesy lamps. Check fuses #3, 4, & 5 They power the BCM for different things. A blown fuse for a different part of it makes it act weird? Otherwise you'll need a dealer to scan the problem ("regular joe scanners" check the powertrain control module for trouble codes but not the other computers) When you get out of the truck the lights should stay on for 15-20 seconds
