HELP! Oil Filter Housing Lines Replacement
Hello Everyone.
Any advice on the “easiest” method getting the Oil Filter Housing Lines off of a 4WD ‘05 Blazer? The engineer decided to make my life a living hell shoving the front differential right under it. Would like to get your thoughts and help on this. |
I used a really long 3/8" extension for my scocket set to remove the the bolt that holds the hoses to the adapter at the engine block.
There is an annoying bolt that holds the hoses near the block that can be hard to get back in. While you are at it, consider replacing the o-ring and gasket that hold the block adapter to the block. To temporarily hold the block adapter gasket in place during assembly, use a thin film of petroleum jelly. I learned that engine rebuilders will use petroleum jelly to prime oil pumps |
Ditto what Christine said. It also helps to have another person guide the socket on that bolt and to keep the flange from twisting. I didn't have a helper one time and dumped all the fresh oil out in a fairly quick time.
