Help Replacing Dash Handle on 2005 Blazer

Help..you are gonna love this...my dog chewed up the dash grab handle on my 2005 blazer. I got another one from a junk yard but how do I replace it?. It just mounts with 2 screws in the dash. I disconnected the battery, because the airbag is there but the cover for the airbag won't come off. Anyone out there who did this already please help....

Much appreciated

Ron

Let me get this strait: you got a grab handle from a bone yard;did you pull it yourself or did they just hand it to you? I don't know 05's that well, but isn't it retained from the inside of the dash or externally? For a grab handle to be strong, one would think it may not be externally mounted, which would require dash removal to access the fasteners...
If this is on the passenger side, just pull out the glove box assy and that will give the needed access to swap out. Again I may be totally wrong as I don't know the 05 dash that well.Someone out here will know for sure! Luck!

thanks for the reply....the mounting screws for the handle are internal. I thought about accessing it from the glove box but the airbag is right above there. I am not sure I can reach the screws from the glove box. The Airbag cover seemes like a more likely access point. Just wondering if anyone has done this.
