How do I remove the inside door handles?

I bought a pair of chrome inside door handles for my front two doors. I took the door panel off and took the original handle and mounting bracket off of the door. I thought I could just swap the factory handle for the chrome one but it doesn't look to be that easy. There is some sort of weird "pin" holding the handle in place and I have no idea how to remove it. Anybody know how to? Do I need a special tool or something? I'd really like to get the chrome handles on since they match my billet knobs.... Thanks!

Click this link and find the subalbums titled Handles and then look at the pictures.... I bought the chrome handles and they are on the mounting brackets except I cannot use those mounting brackets because the mounting tabs were cut off for a custom application.... So I need to switch the chrome handles with the factory ones. I tried banging the "pin" out to remove the chrome handles but it didn't work too well. Any more advice? Thanks

OK, you remove the bezel, then the trim panel, then drill out the rivetts. Slide the handle back to remove it.
Slide the new handle forward and into position and install new rivetts.

That's the long version of saying that you need a drill, rivetts and a rivitt gun.
