How do I replace door locks with new ones

So my Jimmy got broken into the other night (and im still %&*#@ing pissed) but long story short they got a spare key to it now. I am going to replace the key locks on both doors (its a 2dr) but am wondering how hard this will be? I see the new cylinder locks with two keys costs around 50 bucks.
Any idea whats steps i take to do this task? thx in advance for help!

What year, 96- at least 03 very simple need to remove the inner panel to remove outer door Handel just take your time...

So nothing to complicated about it? I've taken off the door panels before to work on speakers so that isn't to scary... I guess I'm just asking for some heads up going into this job?

i havent had to do blazer handles before, but since they are similar to full size chev's, it should only be 2 bolts. one on the outside of the door and the other will be on the inside behind the panel. there should be an access hole and you might need a wobble extension.

but other than that, it should be fairly simple. just dont bend the rods that attach the door handle to the locking mechanism. it will be a pain to bend them back to the right spot. getting the cylinder out should be simple. there is either a clip or a little tab that you might have to push in to get the cylinder out. then just repeat backwards to install.
good luck.

Alright thanks! I bought the lock kit from oreillys last night for only 17 bucks also! Much better than the price I found online at autopartswatehouse.com of 46.
I will let you guys know how it goes and try to take some pics for future reference for people

do you have a lock on the back door for the glass....if you do, you might be able to get it re-keyed rather than having to try and change that too.

I have a 1998 GMC Jimmy and the driver's side door lock seems to need replacing. Basically, whenever I turn the key, the lock itself is stuck. Only in warm weather does it turn, but in colder weather, forget it. I have to turn it, then turn back, then turn it again, then turn back, then turn it again, then turn back, until finally it will release, and sometimes I just have to open the passenger door and unlock it from the inside.

To replace it, do I have to do the same as for removing the door handle itself, only instead of replacing the door handle, I just put a new lock in? Or can the door handle remain in place and the lock be taken out?
