Take shaft out of vehicle and drill or grind rivets off.

The shaft will side out and you can use your vise to drill out the rivets like Les said there are tons of videos on how to do this.

Pull on the shaft with the rag joint; it will pop out, held it with a "spring". Probably will have to lever it out, but it does come out. Then as stated above...grind off the rivets, put the new rag joint on to the shaft, maintain your alignment to the center marks, put some light grease onto the shaft and re-install. Then put the steering box back in, slide the joint onto the steering box, tighten the clamp bolt down (11mm)

DO NOT MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL with the joint off of the steering box.....or you get to learn about a clock spring!!
