With a bi-directional scanner like GM TECH II, Snap On, EFiLive, HPTuners.....etc.

Why you replacing the sensor anyway? Unless its scuffed or not working it should not need replacing. Many times its the wiring to the sensor that is the problem.

It my father-in-law's vehicle he went out the other day and it would not start but before that someone told him that he need to replace it because it was a little hard to start at time. I did not have to check it out the other day and he went off and bought a sensor.

A hard start can be caused by any number of things. The crankshaft position sensor is pretty unlikely. I would recommend doing a thorough diagnosis of the hard-start condition before replacing the crankshaft position sensor. That can cause more problems than it solves.
