HVAC auto climate contol unit
Hey folks
Been having (and still have) some issues with the A/C.
The dash control unit is working BUT the A/C button is just blinking three times and goes off.
The compressor doesn´t enable. The systems has been recharged. All fuses are ok. OBD2- Scan says "No A/C access".
Could the problem be a faulty computer climate control unit?
Has anyone ever had such a problem and/or knows a possible solution to my problem?
Thanks

Hi SSGuy - I have the same issue, A/C, recycle and fresh air buttons all flash three times when pressed and then stay 'off'.
Reading other threads these are the checks that I've heard of...
The fan works AOK.
Have checked all the fuses (all OK).
Have removed the RDO Batt fuse for the prescribed 10 seconds and then set the ignition on for 40+ seconds for the ECC reset.
Still the problem persists!
We have replaced a failed battery recently, but can't confirm whether the issue is directly related, didn't notice the ECC issue until a while afterwards.
Grateful for some further things to check if you all know any!
thanks

I was playing with it last night because I am also having issues with my computer climate control (you know, this feature actually works in my Lincoln) but what I cam up with is if you have defrost selected then the A/C won't come on and the light flashes 3 times. I set mine to panel and got the A/C to come on and also got the fresh air. hope that helps you or maybe you already thought of it.
if anybody can give me the solution to why everything on my computer climate control works as it should except that the temp control is stuck on max heat no matter where I set the temp, I will buy you a $5 foot long from subway ....... I will even include chips and a drink.

It could be the electronic box that sits on top of the heater box behind the dash, or bad vacuum door actuator.

Thanks Poh - that worked to isolate the problem further - when the switch is set away from the position to defrost the windshield, the AC button will engage (well the light stays on now!). I'll be fiddling with the car tonight to see if I can find out about the continuing problem with the fresh air/recycle lights which still just flash three times!
Any other advice will be gratefully received...

Progress - of sorts!
When the switch is set to feet or face, all the settings work fine.
Recharged the AC last night with a hope of finding the leak and seeing whether the system decided to respond to some TLC. No cold air out of the vents yet though!
I could just revert to plan A - open the window instead of AC, but the window motor's on its last legs too...
So, time to start investigating the actuator I guess!
