IAC valve cleaning how-to

Hello,

I have a 98, and would like to clean the IAC. I found the EGR cleanup how-to, but nothing on the IAC.

Where do I find this item? Ive seached enough to see how to do it for the most part, my key is knowing where it is.

Thanks!

Idle Air Control Valve.... hmm... check on the side of your throttle body. From a quick google image search most are in generally the same spot. Couldn't find one on a Blazer, but heres a Camaro, so same car company... :p

Oh, OK. Thanks. It seemed that they were all more or less the same, but it was tough to tell. Ill do some digging this weekend - I know Ive never cleaned it before!

Thanks,

JMH

The image posted above shows an almost (if not) identical IAC valve. It is located on the driver side, rear of the throttle body pointing towards the passenger side.

I use CRC sensor safe throttle body cleaner.

Would the spray type seafoam work? or is that not sensor safe? i just threw my bottle away so i cant check.

And that spray seafoam is amazing. i used it to clean the TB and it turned the heavy carbon into soup.
