Ideas on how to spin new compressor without spanner wrench

I'm about to pull my hair out! I have been messing with this most of the day due to rain. I got everything installed and put 3 ounces of oil in the compressor but can't spin the darn thing by hand. I got about a half turn and I ain't got any more. Any ideas to do this before I burn this thing to the ground???

Thanks so much!!!

I think something is wrong with your compressor. If you have an old serpentine belt, you can wrap it around the compressor pulley and use it to try and spin the compressor. Or, get a strap wrench from the hardwarestore.

oh wait, I'm dumb. The clutch has to be engaged. Ignore me, I don't know what I'm talking about.

Yea like he said^^you should be able to turn it by hand. it may be possible that the amount of oil in the compresser is locking it up at the compression stroke? Is the compresser new? are the refrige lines off the the compresser when you turning it?

Did you put the oil in the suction port or the dischange port? It could be hydraulically locked but still the oil should flow through the valves. My bet is it is a bad compressor if you cannot turn it by hand.
