Ignition Switch?
 

Ok, I had my steering disconnected inside the engine bay the other day while pulling the front differential, and I kind of forgot about it. When I went to turn the steering wheel I spun it with a little more force than it needed (being disconnected and all). Anyway, the steering wheel spun around probably ten times and now there is a nice crunching sounds when I turn the steering wheel. I got everything reconnected, and drove the blazer to the gas station, where it promptly died.
My question is, did I mess something up by free spinning the steering wheel? I dropped all the covers and didn't see anything overtly broken, but I now have an Air Bag light. From reading here on the forum, did I break part of the ignition switch?
I was able to get the blazer running again by swapping out the Crankshaft Position Sensor, which could or could not have anything to do with the blazer dying, and I got a P1351 and P0102 codes when it cranked up. I cleared them, and drove it home, and they didnt come back. But there is something wrong.
Spinning the wheel while it was disconnected was the only thing I can
think of that I did during my repair that made me say "oh s*#t". Any ideas?

Ok, here is the update on the crunching sound in the steering wheel. Hopefully this will help someone else...On the steering shaft in the engine bay it clearly states not to rotate the shaft when it is disconnected, as it can cause damage to the air bag system.
When I rotated mine freely, I broke the clockspring on the air bag. This is located under the steering wheel. Pretty easy to fix, though it did cost $80 shipped from Rock Auto. It is also what caused my air bag light to come on. Just a tip, make sure you disable your air bag system before going in to repair. You definitely don't want your bag to deploy! Hope this helps.
