Default Initial timing 4.3

Hey friends I have been trying to do a distributor install from scratch. New distributor nothing was marked prior to removing old distributor. I see the v shaped notch in the front cover however there are two Mark's on the harmonic balancer. My question I this. Is there another mark somewhere on the engine block to line the other timing mark up with?

To answer that we would need to know the year, and type of the engine.

Normally for the ignition alignment you only need one of the marks, but as said it may depend on the year and type of the engine.

Technically the engine is a Chevy blazer motor still 99 model as the original engine got wiped out by a set of leaking lim gaskets

Rotor points to #6. Marks on balancer aligned as shown for TDC#1.

So pull #1 spark plug. Finger over spark plug hole. Have friend tap starter just a tiny bit at a time (least amount that he can) until you feel puff of air. Then the very next time you get to position of marks shown in diagram will be TDC#1. Turn the crankshaft clockwise (as standing in front and looking at the front of the engine) to this position with a 5/8" deep socket on a 1/2" drive ratchet on the crankshaft bolt. Drop distributor in on the tooth so rotor points as close as possible towards #6.

Thanks less meyer. The v notch on the timing cover is pretty much impossible to miss I'm just wondering if anybody h as an actual picture of the second mark as that service manual picture doesn't show it well enough for me to be confident

One mark is at 1:30 and lines up with the "V" - the other mark is at 5:00. There is only one way this is possible.
