Intake seal??

Hi gang, just a couple of questions on sealing up the intake.
Seems I have an oil leak at the rear of the intake after doing the intake gaskets (dripping out from between oil pan and bellhousing). I guess I didn't apply enough sealer between the block and heads on the back.
I was re-reading D-tips install and it says to apply a bead the width of the rail and about 1" thick. Seems a bit excessive, I mean you'd have to layer it to get it that that thick no? Any thoughts?
Also, I just did this job about 3 weeks ago, can I re-use the intake gastets? Or do I require new gaskets again? TIA

1"... WOW... I usually do between a 1/4" and 3/8" bead.

I wouldn't chance the gaskets. And be very meticulous about cleaning everything.

Lol.....kinda what I thought. Might be a typo in his write up but I'm with you Kyle. When I did the job I applied a bead approx the width of the intake rail X about the same thickness in height (maybe 3/8"). I thought maybe I could get away with using the gaskets again due to the low torque value, and there is no more than 50 miles on it since I did the job.
What really ticks me off is the truck is running absolutley perfect....I hate to tamper with it.

You could inspect the gasket once you have it out to make sure there are not problems with it. Clean it up really, REALLY well where the RTV came in contact with it.
