Just bought a 2000 Blazer....any advice?
I just recently purchased a 2000 chevy blazer from a used dealer. I'd love to keep this car for a good amount of time and wanted to check up on any issues that need to be addressed with this cars mileage. The car is cruising at 190k miles. It's the 4WD variant. When i bought the car we had a little bit of work done. To be honest, im not sure what the exact problem was that was fixed but i believe they had done some engine work and didn't properly mount everything. Also did the basic oil change.
1. What kind of fluids should i change?
2. Any engine issues i should be aware of? (i believe its a v6 car is not here at the moment)
3. Transmission i believe is original.
4. Suspension is a bit bouncy
overall car sounds ok, starts a bit rough but havent had any issues.
I appreciate the tips in advance!

also biggest thing i can think of is the intake manifold gasket...these engines love to chew them up and spit them out. if it hasnt been changed out be aware of its condition. search the forums....you will see it is very common issue. once fixed correctly though you should be good to go for the long haul.

Any new vehicle I buy I do a good tune up. I would also have the trans serviced, front and rear diffential serviced, transfercase as well. Check your coolant system, if it's had dexcool and has seen air it could get clogged up.

And, any replacement fuel or ignition parts should be A/C Delco OEM. Otherwise, you will be wasting time and money. The vacuum lines are likely rotten if they have not been replaced. This can cause big problems with your HVAC and 4WD systems if they implode. As stated, read through the forum. You will find a wealth of info. Hope you get many trouble free miles on it.

If you do anything add a B&M SuperCooler for the tranny. If you serviced your tranny & it went out it was most likely going to fail either way. Unless you unplugged a wire by accident.
