Default Keyless Remote Problems

I have an early 95 Blazer 4 door with auto door locks and a keyless door lock system. Recently while driving, the locks unlocked/ locked all by themselves. Came home, shut vehicle off and it stopped. At this time the keyless remotes wouldn't lock or unlock the doors, but I could still lock unlock/unlock from inside using the switch on the armrest.

I've verfied that the batteries in the remotes are ok and that the remotes are functional. I've searched the threads here and the Internet and have been unable to find a solution. I've tried the procedure where the unlock switch is held down, and the key cycled -that didn't work. I've also located the red, two wire connector under the left side dash panel, jumpered the pins, and nothing happened.

I'm looking for something that DOES work on the 95 Blazer and not what MAY work. Thanks.

John

You really didn't need a completely new thread for this, but there is a small red connector under the dash that needs to be jumped. When you do this, the doors lock and unlock by themselves. Then you have 10 seconds (I think) to hit any button on the remote.

I think that's all there is to it.

Thanks for the reply. As I stated in my post, I tried jumpering the pins on the red connector and it didn't work - nothing happened (doors didn't lock or unlock). I thought maybe something else might be wrong or I could check something else, that's why I started a new thread.

the later models (with rubber buttons) have issue with the rubber impregnated buttons not making contact
If you silicone adhesive a piece of tin foil to the back of the button they work again
