LOOK: 97 Tranny
I was wondering if anyone knew what years of the 4l60e trannys bolt up to a 97 blazer. its 4x4 too. thanks:)

Chevrolet V-6 V-8 and Cadilac V-8 all have the same bolt pattern from 1955 to 2000, so any Chevy tranny will bolt to any chevy motor of any year.
(Someone will site an example of a Geo or something that proves me wrong, but still, I'm just sayin') So any 4L60 will BOLT to your motor. As for the Transfer Case; the 4L60 needs to be out of a 4X4 GM, Chevy or Olds. It, of course needs to be a 4L60E for Electronic Shift. I've heard reference to dif connectors so you should make sure it's the same number of pins. |
Using the 'Search' feature for '97 transmission' turned up this reply in another thread from Kyle:

I believe that both of you should have the two piece transmission case (separate bell housing). After '96, the 4L60E design didn't change all that much so you should be able to use any 97+ transmission in your blazer that matches the drivetrain configuration (2wd or 4wd). A 2wd/4wd transmission can be changed into a 4wd/2wd transmission, but to do so, it must be completely gutted to swap out the tail shaft appropriate for the configuration.
You can use a 4L60E from a fullsize truck, but the torque converter stall speed is different. |
