Default low oil pressure

hey ive done a search and i cant seem to find the answer to this. well anyways, the problem is when driving the oil pressure wont go above 25 psi and while idle it stays around 10 when in the past the norm was 40 while driving and 20 at idle, the seems to run perfectly fine besides that. do i need to replace the oil pump? or the oil pump screen? or is there another fix for this that is simpler? btw im running 5w-30 blazer is 01 with 103k on it 2 door 4x4.

i know i need to get a mechanical oil pressure tester, but ive noticed now that the oil pressure seems almost normal (driving 34 psi - idle 19 ) then i gradually lose oil pressure as engine warms up to what is stated above, is this the sign of bad sender, gauge, or oil pump? need help please!

I would check everything as this doesnt seem normal. I would personally blame it on the pump but at this point im not so sure. My oil pressure guage fluctuates like crazy!! literally bounces at idle, I havent searched on it yet but its just another issue with this thing!

Part of the problem is that what you thought was normal isnt.

GM small block oil pumps bypass at about 57 psi and should read that at 1500 rpm or above... even at operating temp. Mine does. And if it hadnt I would have left it on the lot. Because the USUAL reason for it is worn bearings.

So I wouldnt waste any more time 'wondering' or waiting on a committee vote.

Get the mechanical gauge and check it.
