MAF Sensor compatibility

Hello again, recently my MAF sensor has gone bad and i'm looking to replace it with a junkyard one. However i'm not sure what makes the MAF sensor compatible so i'm coming to you guys for some automotive wisdom. I assume it needs to be from the same engine type(4.3l v6 w engine) but i may be wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am pretty sure they are all the same. Everyone I have seen looks the same, dimensions and electrical plug wise.
Did the filaments in your old one break, improperly cleaned it?

No I used CRC MAF sensor cleaner to clean it. I was getting P0101 codes before I did that though. The filaments have what looks like a burn mark on them. They still seem to be held in place by what I assume is magic.

If you use the tube with the cleaner and spray it at those little filaments you can usually get everything off and for everything else use some que tips after spraying it all down with the cleaner. but dont touch the filament with the que tip. But i assume you already read the how to on cleaning it.

As far as what will work, any MAF from a 4.3 '96+ should work. i would only look in Astro's, s-10's, and Blazers (or similar's) just to be on the safe side.
