Missing When Wet???
Hey everyone,
My 1999 ZR2 is surging and missing, but only when it's wet out. For instance, it will run fine on a dry sunny day, but if it rains overnight or it's just rainy the next day, it starts missing and studdering constantly.
My guess was that moisture is entering the distributor cap/rotor area? Would moisture in this area cause the studdering and missing that I'm experiencing?
I replaced my plugs and wires last summer (2010) so it shouldn't be either of those. And the fact that it only happens when it is wet outside tells me that it's a moisture issue.
Give me your thoughts please.

On a wet/damp/humid day, remove the cap and see if there's any moisture inside the cap, or on the rotor.
Seeing that you recently replaced the plug wires, I'd think they're OK.
I replaced the cap, rotor, and wires when I did the plugs on mine. Cleared up the missing and P1351 codes I was getting on damp days.

I had the same problem but it turned out to be the plug wires. I would check the cap for moisture, too and possibly replace the cap and rotor.
