Plug it. I tryed cod days like you. Plugged and never had a problem. Not to say that if for some screwy reason I found it I wouldn't hook it up

If you plug the line, the downside is you have no reserve supply of vacuum. Under certain driving conditions, the HVAC system may randomly direct air to different vents for short periods, then go back to the correct settings. If you have 4x4, there may be times when the front hubs will unlock or brief periods. If you can live with that, then plug away.

As a side note, any type of canister will work for this. I've heard of some guys making vacuum reservoirs out of PVC pipe.

Thanks for the pic. You seem to have way more room in there than I do. I will look one more time but if I cant find it, it will get plugged

I borrowed that pic...I believe the owner had removed the ABS components. No way you can get that view without pulling out some parts!

I have similar problems. Cant find where the vacuum line enters the firewall from that T. One line from the top cover splits off. at the T it goes into the fenderwell but I cant find out where the other line is supposed to go. Its disconnected and I cannot find where it should enter the firewall. Any hep is greatly appreciated. The ac/heater controls all work except it doesn't blow hot air. This is what began my search for vacuum problems.

if its a hard plastic hose then its for the heater controls. they usually break right before entering the firewall. and as for the evap canister i think its under the blazer near the gas tank if your getting a evap code just erase it and if it comes back then replace the evap sensor and the rubber seal on the intake. they usually just get gummed up.

I had to feel around and then use a dentists mirror to find it. It's tucked WAY up under the lip of the inner fender, between the ABS and (what I think is the) cruise control box.

The down side is minimal. At Very low idle your defroster door might close and you will get floor heat.


If you are a contortionist you can feel with your hands the Nipple on this small tank.
It is directly behind the ABS on the fender and in the cutout in the Inner Fender.
I was barely able to push the tube back on my Canister when we first got our '99 and it was off.
If you want to cheat, buy another one from a Junk Yard and mount it on the inner fender where you can see it.
