Need help with AC
Hi All,
I need help troubleshooting my daughter's 1999 Blazer's AC system. She said it started blowing cold air only at highway speeds but now does not blow any cold air at all. A friend said it may be low on freon and recommended I get a recharge kit with gage from Wal mart which I did. I followed the directions and the gage was showing about 85 psi on the low side with the out door temp around 85 deg. The compressor kicks on when I turn the AC on and turns off when I turn the AC off. While the AC is on I can hear rapid clicking noise from the compressor. The noise stops when I turn the AC off. What should I look at next? Does it sound like the compressor needs to be replaced? Any advice or help would greatly be appreciated. Apparently, my daughter informs me that there are some other issues with her Blazer that she hasn't told me about that need some attention as well but that will be for another time. Thanks |
Is the 85 psi with the compressor on? if so your compressor is toast......

Hi brcidd,
Thanks for your response. Yea, unfortunitly it is. I guess that means I will be replacing the compessor. I haven't done that before so I better start reading up about it. Thanks again. I appreciate it. |
