NEED HELP! Blazer wont shift into park starter wont crank 97 2dr 4wd
 

Hey guys, I am in trouble here, my sister called me because her car wouldnt start after she left a store, so I go to help her, we get it started and I go to get in my truck and the starter wont crank, battery is charged, it was a little iffy the last couple days like didnt seem to crank at full capacity... so I decided to tow it down the street to my sisters, i couldnt get it to go into neutral, with the key in any position, with or without break on... so I popped the bezel off around the shifter (shifter is mounted on floor or between passenger and driver seats) and pull this little plastic springy thing and got it to shift into neutral, it would still lock in position when in park but I could get it into neutral at least, got it to my sisters and put it into park and it started rolling, I played with it for awhile and it still wouldnt engage into park! Could this be just the starter or is the starter maybe good still? I have little money and this is my only car, I have to get it running my Monday thanks for any and all help!!!
