Need help fast if possible!!!
 

It would be great if someone could give me some step by step directions on how to remove and replace my distributor. Is it even a job easy enough to do in the yard. MY dad has changed a few in his time and i can follow directions to a t so we should be able to get it but still a little nervous. I just started a job last week and now a dont have a truck which doesnt look good. I need to have this fixed by monday. So if ther is anyone on here that could walk me through the steps of taking it out, getting the motor to tdc, and putting the new distributor i would be very thankful.

Also the distributor might have a tooth broke of the gear if this changes anything in the installment of the new one.

It isn't a terrible job to do. Kyle (swartlkk) posted a how to at https://blazerforum.com/forum/showth...+remove&page=2

It reads as follows:

Remove the cap and then remove the retaining bolt under the distributor.

Before you remove the rotor ... mark the position of the rotor tip on the base of the distributor. Lift the distributor up and out. Once you pull it up about an inch, mark its new position.

Transfer the marks to the new distributor and you should have no problems getting it installed correctly on the first try. Just do not rotate the engine over.

follow that how too. only thing you may run into is if you have an older vehicle it will have a bolt, if its newer, you will work through torx heads. you can pull it off NP. :D if your old man has turned a wrench before, your golden.

just in case yall wanted to know what was cauing it to run so poopy and what i think might have been causing the distributer to break was a competely clogged cat.
