New Blazer
Just got a Blazer and the the check engine light is on. Its got about 60k miles on it. Do the O2's go out that early usually. Are there any problems with Blazers 4x4 Parking light and abs light going off at the same time? Weird. Id appreciate the help

RE: New Blazer
It's unusual for the O2 to go out that early, unless your engine is in dire need of a tune up and has for a long time. What code are you getting?
Any time there is a problem with the brake system it will deactivate your ABS system. Depending on which brake light is on (one for emergencgy brake and one for brake system problems) will help to narrow down the problem. The ABS light is telling you that the system has been deactivated and will not function during hard braking. Is your emergency brake completely disengaged. Pull it out with your hand to be sure. Usual fix for emergency brake light problem. Do you hear the brakes squell until applied? Do your brake puslate when you apply them? How much brake pad do you have left? DO not add brake fluid to the resivor? Typically a low resivor is a indicator that the brake pads are almost worn out. All adding fluid does is turn the brake light off and make your ABS function. It will not replace your pads. Then when you do replace oyur pads, all that brake fluid you just added will overfill your resivor, and you will have to suck some out to get it to the proper level. Congrats on tne nused truck. |
