My engine light is on and MPG is horrible. I want to get code but do not know how to. I have OBD2 scanners and they obv cannot help. Autozone says they cant do it either :icon_doh:

help!

Did you find any solution? I have the same problem, I changed the distributor because the engine was knocking awfully, the cap was broken and the gear was worn out, after i did it, the check engine light pops up in the cluster and i don't know why. Tried to scan but the scanner doesn't work either... The truck works just fine, but it's still knocking at 60km/h about 3000rpm, although its less than before changing the distributor. Tomorrow i'm going to check the camshaft sensor of the new distributor and the knock sensor to see if its working.

It's a 99 Chevy blazer, but apparently it doesn't have OBD2 connector.

Why do you say that it does not have an ODBII connector? It has the compliant ODBII 16 pin connector and a contact on pin 2 which is the J1850 serial communications pin for GM ODBII and its a 1999, well beyond the last year of ODB 1.5?

jump pins 9 and 5 and you will get the check engine light to flash 12 3 times then the codes start coming if you have any.
