OBD Code reader?
Hey all.
I have a 95 Blazer, and im thinking about getting a code reader for it. However, i know that i dont have OBDII. I tried to use a OBD II reader to scan my car, but it wouldnt link up
What scan would i need? I heard that the 95's have like a 1.5 or something of that sort.
Thanks

'95 is one of those bastard years. It is a mix of OBD1 & OBD2. Some of the newer OBD2 scanners can read the codes, but they are hit or miss. I haven't seen a cheap scanner that has the capability though.

doesn't OBD1 give you the option to do a "blink code" instead of needing to use a scanner? Just a thought.

RE: OBD Code reader?
Not on the '95s. If it has the OBD2 connector, you cannot ground pins A & B together and watch the CEL.

RE: OBD Code reader?
Yeah im pretty sure it connects like an OBD II because the reader i tried to use plugged in fine with no connectors missing or anything like that
