Odd Cruise Control Issue.
Odd question about my cruise control. Ever since I've owned my 2002 Blazer I've noticed that the cruise control will only work if you remember to turn it off before you shut the truck off. If I were to forget and leave it on (like the switch clicked to the middle) and shut the truck off, when I start it up again, I cannot get it to engage again. If I turn the cruise switch off however, before I turn the truck off, when I turn it back on it works fine. What's up with that?

Yeah, I have experienced that with many GM vehicles dating back to the 70's! As the switch is a multi-function switch,I believe that is a default to prevent an unintentional speed selection after the vehicle has been shut down and then re-started(prudent actually!) My 84 C3500,91 Suburban and my 97 Jimmy all do the same and as my 91 Crown Vic wagon...

mine doesnt have that issue, i leave it in the middle position all the time. i did have something wierd happen with dad's first S-blazer. it was a '93 2door and i had set the cruise to go to work early in the morning, about halfway there i had to stop for a turn, when i hit "resume" it kept going past 55. as it was early (4:30 am) and no traffic, i decided to see just how far it would go. it made it to 80. dont know if thats all that vehicle had in it or what. never did it again. another g.m. i had, this a '92/'93 C2500 truck, you could hit resume and it acted like you hit set, it would "lock" and stay at that speed. (if you hadnt set it before and thought you had) on my fords you have to hit the "on" button before setting the cruise, it auto-defaults to "off" when the key is turned off. (or if you stall a manual trans and have to restart)
