Default Oh boy where to begin?

I have a 2001 4 door with 134,000 and it was severly abused. I bought it July 21, 2010, and the engine blew that November. Have not had this thing a year. Right now my rear brakes are gone, the air pump is bad. But what worries me is that all of my warning lights will come on randomly from time to time, and the gauges mess up when that happens. It started after the "mechanic" at the "dealership" where I got it melted the casing for one of the wire bundles that runs at the back of the engine; although it could be totally unrelated, as no wires are visibly damaged. Has anyone else had these kind of electrical problems?

The gauges screwing up and the 'christmas tree' effect on the dash can be caused by a failing ignition switch (what the key turns to activate the various ignition functions). Check out the ignition switch link in my signature below for more information & wiring diagrams.
