This oil cooler adapter gasket...
2000 Blazer 4x4 "trailblazer" 4.3 vortec (not the straight 6)...
So I'm changing out the gasket and seal on my oil cooler block-to-lines adapter... i have to somehow get the old gasket off of the block. There was so little clearance that i had to both raise the engine a little and disconnect the front driveshaft to get the adapter out of there. My question is does anybody know any protricks to get the old gasket outta there? Is there a special $35 tool i need to buy? Thanks for reading! |
meh. i used a large flathead, that i grounded the end super flat/sharp. and also bend the end of a sharp knife. it just takes time. lay down, turn on some music, and grab a beer, enjoy.

Got it! Sharpened a flathead like you said... then wedge and twist and wedge and twist and wedge and twist. Nice and clean. Thanks again for the help!
