Ok, Please help me get it perfect!!!!

I hope I wont have to post anything in this section of the forum for quite some time..... Here we go!!!! -----

So... my truck has no balls. its a 95 jimmy, with 140,000 on the clock....

Things I have replaced in the past month-
  • Fuel Pump/Screen/Sending Unit
  • Fuel Filter
  • Internal Fuel Lines (the lines inside the plenum)
  • Plugs/Wires/Cap/Rotor/Oil/Oil Filter
  • Radiator/Water Pump/180* Thermostat
  • Fuel pressure test over 60 :icon_pirate:
My issue-

  1. The idle is at around 700 rpm's...
  2. my oil pressure sits at around 20 at idle...
  3. The truck has absolutely no balls whatsoever
  4. It resists sometimes when I drive
  5. Its not smooth, it sounds as if its gurgling while driving and idling....
My Opinion-

I have a pretty bad exhaust leak. Starting at the down pipe from the driver side manifold, then at the cat, and then after the exhaust, the pipes are rusted bad. Could that be an issue? (I know diddly squat about exhaust)

Is my Fuel Pressure Regulator faulty, and would it cause my truck to run like poo?

I don't want to replace the spider(fuel injector) unless absolutely necessary, but I'm running out of things to cancel out.... I would appreciate input. Thank you very much :icon_drink:

1.The idle may not be that far off. Have you verified it with a mechanical tach, or just by what the dash gauge says?
2. Oil pressure is fine.
3. Hhmmm.
4. Exactly what do you mean?
5. Where is the 'gurgling' sound coming from?

Gurgling? Maybe some air in the cooling system when parts were swapped.
An exhaust leak can cause a loss in power as you now have reduced back pressure. From what I've been able to find proper back pressure helps create the low end torque that would give you the "get up and go" that it sounds like you're missing.

The truck has no balls - I tried towing a little 16' flats boat, and it barely made it up the ramp. Its not as fast as this motor should be.

It resists sometimes when I drive - That means, when im doing normal driving, it will stutter. Like how do i explain it?

Its not smooth, it sounds as if its gurgling while driving and idling - That my friend, is pretty much coming out of the exhaust. But not sure if the exhaust leaks would cause the rest of the stuttering problems.

Am I making any sense? haha im trying....

That is one of the answers ive been looking for https://blazerforum.com/forum/image....ine=1236381415 oisinirish. Thanks man

Fix the exhaust leaks first. A compression test might wind up being in order.

Confuused69 09-11-2009 04:24 PM

ok well, im gonna get it fixed in a couple weeks then. See what happens. Then ill get a compression test.... Ill update after all of that is completed.

Another possibility? EGR valve could be hanging up?

Confuused69 09-11-2009 04:28 PM

No egr valve is outa the question... I can take that thing off, clean it, and put it on in like 3 seconds haha. Ive fixed that carbon issue with 2 cans of sea foam in the intake vaccum line. That baby is carbon free!!!!

No vacuum leaks? Okay now I'm just spitballing..lol
