outside mirror control switch illumination bulb

02 blazer:
Hello,
I am trying to get a replacement illumination bulb for the switch that controls the outside remote mirrors.
My dealer saysI have to buy the whole switchat over $50.00
I unsoldered the little bulband have taken it to radio shack and they say it is so small they don't have one.
it is smaller than a pill capsule, 12V.
I have searchedthis site, and seem to come up empty handed.
does anyone know where it might be purchased?

Thank you,

I'd look into getting some 12V mini leds. Should be able to find one that will fit.

I was never able to find any either, The easiest thing to do would to be replace it with some type of LED, or maybe a mini maglite bulb (not sure of the power rating on those though). It would have to be custom. Or like the dealer said buy a whole new door switch panel. (I would check on ebay and the local junkyards first) Good luck.

I am surprized you could not find a bulb at Radio Shack - that's exactly where I bought mine. I've actually repaired three of these switches recently (one for me, one for my parents and one more as a spare). I'd either go to another Radio Shack or talk to a different salesman. They come two in a package. They're usually in the parts drawers in the back of the store. These might be the ones you need.
