oxygen sensor trouble codes and "fuel trim" code, i just got new o2 sensors....
i got trouble codes p0151, p0131, p0137 and p0171.....
151,137 and 131 relates to each one of the o2 sensors, 131 says engine running lean. 171 states a fuel trim bank one condition....now i know my o2 sensors aren't faulty, they were replaced about a month ago. and weird thing is i noticed my car getting BETTER gas mileage, and it says its running lean....so i have no clue if all these coming together means something. I was thinkin my maf sensor but the other thing is i haven't noticed any weirdness while driving my car. Is it possible a spark plug could be causing this? Cause i did change them not too long ago except one cuz the steering column is in the way and im just too lazy to take it out to change it. ive had fuel pump problems in past cars, and i dont think its that cuz my engine doesn't try to stall at all. I do need to use fuel injector cleaner cause my oil change is about due but i dont think fuel injector cleaner is going to help this out cause 171 correlates to possible fuel injector problem. So what do you think? |
What are you driving?
P0131 - HO2S Circuit Low Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1 P0137 - HO2S Circuit Low Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 2 P0151 - HO2S Circuit Low Voltage Bank 2 Sensor 1 P0171 - Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 1 Start with the trouble shooting steps in the links above. See where that takes you. *EDIT* - Here is the description for P0137. I do not have it in my other reference though. DTC P0137 - HO2S CIRCUIT LOW VOLTAGE BANK 1, SENSOR 2 Circuit Description VCM provides about 0.45 volt reference to Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S). HO2S sensor signal voltage varies from about one volt when exhaust is rich to about 0.1 volt when exhaust is lean. VCM reads and stores sensor voltage information and evaluates the voltage samples to determine amount of time sensor voltage is out of range. If HO2S voltage is out of predetermined range, DTC will set. Conditions required to test for DTC are:
Diagnostic Procedures
Diagnostic Aids Using scan tool, observe LT FUEL TRIM values at different RPM. If conditions to set DTC P0137 exist, value should be about 158 or greater. Check for an intermittent short to ground in HO2S signal circuit. Never solder HO2S wires. Check for fuel contamination. Check for proper fuel pressure. Check for exhaust leaks. |

OK IM DUMB, sorry i simply forgot to reconnect a vacuum line by my throttle body when i cleaned my throttle body.
|
Hopefully that was it! Let us know if you need further assistance.
|
yeah im hoping so, the trouble code will clear by itself if the problems fixed right?
|
If the problem is no longer there, then yes, the light will clear itself in time. To coax it along, you can disconnect the battery for 10-15 minutes.
