P1628 ECT Pull-Up Resistor?
Last night I had to reset the comp. for the taller tires & to do that the scanner has to check/clear DTC's. Well it had 2,
- a P0128 Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature)
- P1628 ECT Pull-Up Resistor <--- wth is that & any ideas on what steps to take to correct these?

The first code tells you that the computer is reading a low coolant temperature from the coolant temperature sensor.
The second code is telling you that a fault has been detected in the coolant temp sensor itself.
If you replace your faulty coolant temp sensor you should not get either of those codes again.

Right on, thnx Awe... the truck is at the shop right now getting the rear shackles installed & cat back dual exhaust, so i called him & told him to replace the engine coolent temp. sensor.
The P0128 has been coming up a lot & that makes sense that the ECT sensor is messed up causing that 128 code

Yup, that took care of it, i hope
it's running at the proper rpm's when it's cold & as it warms up... as a bonus, somehow my oil pressure sending unit was maxing out the guage, now it works, hmmm it might have to see an exorcist lol
thnx again
