Passenger side of 99 blazer sits alot lower then drivers side ?
I have 99 blazer with 4wd and over the past couple years I have noticed the passenger side starting to drop lower than the drivers side. when you stand in the back you can see that the passeneger side sags alot lower than the drivers side. If I measure both sides from the top of the wheel to the to fender there is about a 3 inch difference. Can I bring that side back up by adjusting the torsion bar nut. I was thinking about getting some helper springs for the leaf springs but I was not sure it that would lift the passenger side back up. Does anyone have any idea as to what I can do to raise that side back up.

You could try cranking on the torsion bar. But if the entire passanger side is leaning it'll only help the front. Check the leafs, compare them to the left side. Do they look flatter? Anything broken?
Still check the torsion bar though, check it for cracks, or any signs of distress. Also check the control arm where the torsion bar slides in. Check for looseness or anything else strange. |
Can you tell if the sag is more in the front, or the rear? A 3" difference seems a rather large, whether it's front or rear. Leaf springs do sag over time, but the torsion bars shouldn't.
