Please help
Hi, I was driving early this morning and all of the sudden I lost power. If I try to start it, it wont. I have no spark, the engine will turn so its not the battery, but what are some options. Thank you so much

Hi, year make and model would be really helpful along with your problem but i bet you its your ignition control module

Sorry, its a 2000 Blazer I believe s10. I had it in 4 wheel and all of the sudden my dashboard lit up and I lost power. I tried to start it and it has power but no spark. I had everything tuned up on it a few months back, so I know the plugs and everything are good.

I think the dash lite-up due to the engine no longer running.
So if you lost spark, first things to check are to make sure the coil wire in-place, distributor cap is not loose, conmection to the ignition control module. If those are all good, then I would suspect the ignition control module itself. Autozone can test some of them, but not all. And just replacing it is a bit costly as there are no returns on electrical parts.
Let us know what you find out.
Good luck.

Are you sure there is no spark? Or it just doesn't sound like it's firing?
When (or after) trying to start, do you smell gas from the exhaust?
Long story short, similar happened, took it to the closest shop, they said it was the distributor shaft had broken. Never saw it to verify, but a new distributor fixed it! Maybe check if the cap/rotor looks good?

The fuel pump should run for 2 seconds when you switch the key on, before you crank. Listen for it..
The primary cause of your symptom is the fuel pump.

Fuel pump should run for 2 seconds at key-on, but requires at least 10 seconds in key-off position to run again!
