power mirrors

I bought some new mirrors. I put the driver side mirror on and it worked fine, put the passenger side on and got the mirror to up and down and was working on getting it to go left and right. Then they both stop working. The fuse is good and it is not the mirror switch in the door panel. what could it be?

aftermarket or proper OEM mirrors? new or used?

does everything work properly if u reinstall the original mirror's?

cherryracing 01-07-2011 04:03 PM

have not tried that yet

UberFail 01-07-2011 04:08 PM

u might want to try that to rule out whether or not the new aftermarket lights just took a giant crap on you or if maybe there's something like the switch or a wire incorrectly connected.

cherryracing 01-07-2011 04:16 PM

just tried the old mirror and it didn't work

UberFail 01-07-2011 04:19 PM

got a multimeter or something with a connectivity test? check to see if there's at least power going to the switch and then if so if it goes to each mirror. tbh i have a feeling your switch assembly just crapped on you

cherryracing 01-07-2011 04:22 PM

I went and got one from autozone and tried it out but the mirrors still did not work

well time to trace wires then :/ first thing to check for is actual power going to the switch.
