Default Problems with Brakes!!!

Everytime I step on the brake pedal, I can feel a pulse feeling, Feels like grinding. And I noticed I have to press deeper to the floor with my brake pedal now. You think my pads or rotors might be worn out?? Last time I replaced my front pads and rotors was at 91,000 miles. My blazer now has 98,000 miles. I know it cannot be my front brake pads or rotors, because they are brand new parts installed 7,000 miles ago, but that was almost 1 year ago. I don't use this blazer that much. But, the rear rotors were resurfaced in 2/2006 with 81,000 miles and replaced the pads as well with 81,000 miles. You think 3 1/2 year old pads and rotors in the rear need replaced?? And where is the best auto parts store to buy the brake pads and rotors?? I have always bought from Napa, Never had a problem. they have USA made Pads, but china made rotors I believe. i prefer USA made parts. But, If I have no choice, oh well. Thanks.

I would bet that the front is the source of your vibration. It handles the vast majority of braking duties. It really comes down to the quality of the parts that were installed.

My guess is that the front rotors are at fault here.

Well...I use all Napa Premium parts. But, it has been 3 years since replacing the front pads and rotors. I had the car inspected in feb 2009 and I guess the pads were okay then. But, the rotors might be bad like you said. I have an oil change in 1,000 miles so I will ask my mechanic to check the pads and rotors in the front. The back pads and rotors are brand new last sept or so. Thanks.

Just so your aware of rotors, just by looking at them, you cant tell if their bad ( as far as warping goes) They have to come off the truck and be turned ( cut) that is when you`ll notice if they havent been cut inawhile and have warped from heat... that pulsating, might also be your Abs sensors acting up.. have them looked at also..

OKay, I will check into that. I checked the pads, all pads look good, very thick still. I did have the rear rotors resurfaced back in 2006. Never, since I owned the car had them replaced. I had the car since 2005 with 75,000 miles on it. Now it has 98,000 miles on it. Its a low mileage blazer and is not used heavily. So you think it might be worth it to get the rear rotors resurfaced again, or should i replace them with napa premium rotors? I know that pads are all still good, the front rotors have been replaced in sept. I has to be comming from the rear rotors, the rotors are in bad shape just from looking at them. Rust and all that. Dont look so great, might even be originals, i know i never replaced them. Its about $70 for each rotor or so. So $150 to get new ones.

welp if you wanna go that route and spend the cash on new ones, thats your choice, otherwise you can try and get yours cut for prob 40$ Its all up to your finances.. Ive never felt any pulsating from bad brakes that have rear disc brakes, like Kyle said Most of your braking is in the front, you`ll feel it in the brake pedal..
