Proper A/C Pressure readings ???

1998 Blazer 4x4 4.3 Auto

Needed to refill my A/C with refrigerant & sealer. Not sure what the proper pressure readings should be? Anyone know or at least know where I can look it up?

I refilled because there was no cooling or defogging and the compressor would not kick on by itself. Using the PSI gauge that comes with recharge kits, while A/C is running (on MAX) the pressure swings up to 45 psi and then the compressor kicks on. When pressure drops down to 25 psi the compressor stops and cycles up to 45 psi again when the compressor kicks on again. The outdoor air temp was 61*. The temp reading at the center vents was best of 49*.

i have almost the same problem. my kit from pep boys says [based on ambient temp of 75f] range is 39-47 psi. compressor kicks in when i'm adding 134a, pressure drops to 0 then back up to what i just charged it at- this cycle repeats itself. compressor does not stay on for more than 2 secs. i checked fuses and tried to short the pins on the compressor which oddly did nothing. not sure if you tried the same. I'm still SOL myself with wifey breathing down my neck
