re: Mass Airflow Sensor

Hi there, I was wondering if someone can help me out. My mass airflow sensor keeps going off, now I took the MAS apart and cleaned iit properly with electrical contact cleaner and it seems to be working fine but my engine light is still on. I was informed if you discoonect the battery (negative side) this will reset the computer on the vehicle, which I did, but my engine light still stayed on...doesn't disconnecting the negative side reset the computer?
Is there any other way to reset it with paying $100+ for a diagnostics scan...
Anyinfo.be appreciated... thanks
ps. this is the second time I had to take apart my MASand re-clean it in weeks, after doing some more research I didn't relaize the K&N filter had to be abolsutely dry and oil free (via shop vac)before putting back in or may cause the sensor/engine light to go off again as the oil may end up on the clean sensor picking up dirt all over again

Go to Advance Auto. They'll reset it for free, and print out the codes for you.
