rear hatch would not open

well i sprayed wd-40 down in latch area let it set for about 15 minutes and it opens perfectly now guess it was stuck lol

Actually that was a comment I was going to make earlier. While you have the rear hatch apart it is always a good idea to lube the latch parts.

To answer your question, the underhood fuse box did not come into play until '98. So the '97 and older trucks do not have an underhood fuse box.

I have not been able to use the button inside my truck to open the hatch in my 05 blazer for a year now...read this thread and looked in the fuse box under the hood...changed #3 purple and I am back in business,this forum has been a huge help to me and saved me lots of money...Thanks.

My brother-in law has not been able to get his rear hatch open the last 2 years. After reading this thread today I went to his house and checked the fuse under the hood. It was bad. Replaced fuse and works great. Thanks for all the great info!

got a 99 blazer v6.rear hatch well not pop open still after checking fuse box under hood.not even the push button inside or rear hatchback.what else could it be!ipush the nside button and it just makes a funny noise like the motor is not working.i priced them and theyre not cheap.does anyone have any clue do i need to spray som lubricant first or what.

sounds like the acuator arm is broken. The first page of this thread shows how to fix that

mine still acting up,it will open fine for couple days,then stops,you can hear motor moving but this is weird part if i spray wd40 or white lithium grease down the glass latch wait about 15 minutes the hatch will open.i lubed the heck out of it still works couple days then stops anyone got any ideas?
