Recovery Hook Removal

TF I agree these trans are a bit weak. However a few bucks invested in some parts upgrades and these things are bulletproof. I have a site that has the GOOD STUFF for these and the 700R4's as well. With a nice upgrade and rebuild these things will hold
650+ HP and survive. Then ya gotta worry about the transfer case and the rest of the driveline. Mainly new clutches a new sun shell upgrade, which is where most of the failures occur.
I'm glad he got his hooks out and painted. So it's all good.

Santa loves the Army because they keep him free. And I am a big fan too because the Army is why I can say the stupid s**t I do and not be shot and stuffed in the trunk of a Russian limousine -- to keep Putin's luggage from falling over.
One more thing, I have to give credit where credit is due:
The 4L60E is massively better than it's predecessors, and I shouldn't complain because I have been given almost 150K, I am just very bitter over the loss of my S-10 because transmission = $$$ and just getting rid of the darn thing = $.
So now *other than 5 grand takeoffs -- shh don't tell the transmission* I try to treat transmissions as the fragile things that aren't meant to be used. I avoid hilly places at all costs, I try not to tow and I have even started getting one less donut at dunkin donuts in the morning jk lol.
Except when I am bangin' gears in a manual, then I feel bulletproof!
Regards,
Thomas

I've got almost 200K on my 96 and while I don't abuse it I dont treat it like it's made out of string cheese and lettuce. My truck has an aftermarket cooler mounted on it and I'm sure that helps a lot. In 2001 GM upgraded the 4L60E with stronger components and called it a 4L65E. Maybe these will last a bit longer, who knows?
I take it rock climbing and mudding and I'm not sure who enjoys it more, me or the truck!
