Replace BCM on 2001 Blazer

Looking to find and possibly replace the BCM on my 2001 S10 Blazer. Does anyone have a video or at least step-by-step instructions on how to do this? Thanx.

Un plug the old one, plug in the new one, reprogram, and you're good to go. It will require a TechII scan tool to program it.

Do you know exactly where the BCM is and what it looks like? A video or at least a picture of it would be very helpful. Thanx..

Behind instrument panel, just left of the ash tray, ya can't miss it.

what does the BCM abbreviation mean? what does it do?

BCM = Body Control Module. Depending on the year of the vehicle, among other items, it controls power door locks, power windows, all interior and exterior lights, (except instrument warning lights) horn, Passlock security system, retained accessory power circuit, and certain transfer case functions. All of which can be commanded seperately from a capable scan tool. When the operator selects a function on any of the various switches in the vehicle, a request is sent to the BCM. The BCM sends the command to the component.

Thank you for the information. Could a bad BCM be the problem with my 1998 Blazer LT 4WD? The power window switches work but none of the power lock or mirror switches work. Also, the back hatch window buttons don't work, neither the dash nor keyless remote.
If I want/need to open anything other than the driver door, I have to either reach over/back or use the remote, even when sitting in the vehicle.

It's possible the BCM is at fault, but doubtful. More likely there are seperate issues with the power locks and power mirror circuits.
