replacing the abs senser

Default replacing the abs senser

I have a 1996 blazer, automatic 4 by 4 and i need to replace the abs senser and i have no idea and dont want to take it to a mechanic(if i dont need to) Is there a easy way to replace.

If memory serves correctly, a single allen head bolt and a plug. Not sure if you have to pull the rotor or even if you have to pull the hub to replace it.

I'll find out soon enough when I get off my butt to do it myself.

If the 96 is like my 98, then you do have to take the rotor off which means pulling the caliper and bracket. It's really not too bad.

There is also an abs sensor on transfer case. But it appears ur talking abt wheel sensors.

the only problem i ever ran into messing with them is sometimes you get rust above the o-ring where it goes into the bearing and the sensor breaks off in the bearing. which really doesnt matter since you are replacing it but you will have to dig out that plastic piece
